Pharmacy Technician - Clearwater, Florida

This 13-week contract opportunity in Clearwater, FL, offers a dynamic role for an experienced pharmacy technician ready to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position involves comprehensive pharmacy support tasks including prescription processing, inventory management, and insurance claim handling. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a start date ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions accurately, address insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist review and verification.
• Perform data entry, manage prescription documentation, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers.
• Conduct daily inventory cycle counts, restock supplies, and monitor medication expiration dates.
• Assist in managing returns, medication quarantines, and destruction protocols.
• Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support various department needs.
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years’ pharmacy technician experience; call center background is a plus.
• Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong communication abilities to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
