Pharmacy Technician | Clearwater, Florida

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in Clearwater, FL. This role requires a detail-oriented and efficient technician who can confidently manage prescription processing, inventory control, and insurance adjudications in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP or within 1.5-2 weeks after clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and fill prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
• Perform data entry and manage prescription paperwork while effectively communicating with patients and prescribers.
• Maintain inventory integrity through daily cycle counts, restocking, and reviewing medication expirations.
• Support medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures.
• Cross-train across pharmacy functions to provide flexible departmental support.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and relevant insurance regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years’ pharmacy technician experience; call center background is a plus.
• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
