Join a dynamic pharmacy team in Clearwater, FL, as a Pharmacy Technician on a 13-week contract. This role is pivotal in supporting pharmacists by efficiently processing prescriptions and managing pharmacy operations to ensure quality patient care. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, starting as soon as cleared (typically 1.5 to 2 weeks following the offer).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions accurately, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform data entry, handle prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers professionally.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and reviewing medication expiration dates.
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support departmental needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; experience in a call center is preferred.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
