Pharmacy Technician in Cleveland, OH

An experienced retail pharmacy technician is needed for a 13-week contract-to-hire position in Cleveland, OH. This role supports a specialty retail pharmacy known for managing complex patients who typically take 8-15 medications daily. Strong communication and patience are critical in this setting, along with a solid understanding of the top 200-400 drugs commonly found in retail pharmacies.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis (MS), and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
• Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to a Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient population, some of whom may have low literacy.
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure understanding of medication regimens.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws and company policies.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a retail pharmacy technician, preferably with specialty pharmacy exposure.
• Strong knowledge of commonly prescribed medications in retail settings.
• Patience and excellent communication skills to work with patients managing chronic diseases.
• Ohio pharmacy technician license required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
