An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to support a specialty retail pharmacy dedicated to serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in retail pharmacy, particularly those with specialty retail experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens for patients taking 8-15 medications daily
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients who may have chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Assist Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, demonstrating patience and understanding for individuals with low literacy levels
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws and standards
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license for Ohio is required
  • PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience working in retail and specialty pharmacy settings
  • Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly dispensed in retail pharmacies
  • Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Ability to manage complex medication regimens with attention to detail and accuracy

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Location:

  • Cleveland, Ohio

This position is offered as a 13-week contract with the potential to transition to permanent employment. Immediate availability is preferred to support the pharmacy’s mission of providing exceptional care to vulnerable patient populations.
