Pharmacy Technician in Columbus, OH

Location:

• Columbus, OH

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with complex chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients who may have low literacy and require patience and understanding
• Assist pharmacists in managing the medication profiles of patients taking 8-15 different medications daily
• Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx experience preferred but training is available)
• Support a patient population primarily covered by Medicare/Medicaid and from low-income backgrounds

Desired Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician
• Strong communication skills tailored to patients with chronic diseases and varying literacy levels
• Knowledge of the top 200-400 commonly dispensed retail medications
• Demonstrated ability to work compassionately and patiently with complex patient cases
• Explicit experience noted working with chronic illnesses is important
