Pharmacy Technician in Columbus, OH

Join a specialty retail pharmacy dedicated to serving patients with complex medication needs. This contract opportunity offers the chance to apply your expertise supporting patients managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. The role operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no weekend shifts.

Location:

Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill and dispense medications, focusing on patients prescribed multiple medications daily
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, many of whom have low literacy and require clear, patient guidance
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient service to Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations
• Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx experience preferred, training available)
• Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with pharmacy protocols

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proven experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician
• Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 commonly prescribed medications
• Demonstrated ability to work with patients managing advanced chronic diseases
• Exceptional communication skills and patience when interacting with diverse patient populations
• Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid patients and individuals with limited health literacy
