Located in Converse, TX, this contract opportunity offers a vital role as a Pharmacy Technician in a Long Term Care setting, starting March 2, 2026. The position supports pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling.
- Dispense medications, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions efficiently.
- Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, performing order entry, rotating stock, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Support daily pharmacy workflow including opening and closing procedures to promote timely service.
- Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams; assist in medication awareness initiatives.
- Adhere to compliance protocols, quality checklists, and safety standards while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Operate dispensing machines or robotics and support IV room operations or compounding sterile/non-sterile preparations when applicable.
Schedule/Hours:
- Shift: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid TX Pharmacy Technician License
- Experience in medication preparation and dispensing within a long-term care or similar pharmacy environment
- Proficiency with insurance processing and maintaining accurate patient records
- Strong inventory management skills
- Ability to operate pharmacy dispensing technology and perform compounding if required
- Excellent communication skills for team and patient interactions
