Pharmacy Technician in Cortland, NY

A pharmacy technician opportunity is available for a 13-week contract position in Upstate New York, ideal for professionals with a valid NY Pharm Tech license and over two years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience. This role requires expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding along with proficient handling of pharmacy operations within a hospital setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable days and afternoons
• 5 shifts per week, each 8 hours long

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols
• Restock Pyxis machines efficiently to support nursing staff and maintain medication availability
• Deliver medications to patient care floors promptly
• Manage incoming pharmacy calls, coordinating with healthcare staff to facilitate effective pharmaceutical service

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current Pharmacy Technician license in New York State
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an inpatient pharmacy environment
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication distribution systems
• Ability to work flexible hours as required by the variable schedule
