A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a skilled Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role offers an immediate start and involves working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment where precision and quality are paramount. The pharmacy primarily compounds non-sterile veterinary medications, with some sterile preparations, fulfilling over 200 prescriptions daily.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound veterinary medications, focusing mainly on non-sterile formulas with some sterile compounding
- Package, label, and prepare prescriptions for shipment according to established procedures
- Maintain compounding equipment and workspace cleanliness following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support pharmacists with daily workflow and production demands
- Adhere strictly to pharmacy protocols and quality assurance standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and manage inventory as required
- Contribute to a high-volume compounding operation while ensuring accuracy and safety
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in compliance with state requirements
- Previous experience in a compounding pharmacy setting, especially with non-sterile compounding
- Sterile compounding experience is preferred
- PTCB certification is advantageous but not mandatory
- Experience in veterinary or animal compounding is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs rigorously
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment
- Strong work ethic, dependability, adaptability, and motivation

Schedule:
- Monday through Friday with occasional flexibility based on production volume
