Support pharmacy operations in a retail/outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting as a Pharmacy Technician playing a key role in providing essential medication services to a diverse patient population.

Location: Denver, CO
Employment Type: Contract/Contract-to-Hire
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 7:45am and 8:00am
  • Workday ends at 5:30pm
  • 1-hour lunch break from 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Enter prescription and patient demographic data accurately into the pharmacy system
  • Fill, label, package, and prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
  • Process insurance claims including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B prescriptions
  • Assist patients with prescription pick-up, refills, transfers, and answer medication-related questions, escalating clinical inquiries to pharmacists
  • Handle cash transactions following established procedures
  • Order, receive, and manage medication inventory, including stock rotation and removal of expired products
  • Assist in fulfilling clinic medication and vaccine orders
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and protect patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to optimize patient care
  • Deliver compassionate customer service to uninsured and low-income patients

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience strongly preferred
  • Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license
  • Certification from PTCB or NHA required
  • Experience with EPIC Willow preferred; training provided if needed (1-2 days)
