Operating within a USP 797/800 cleanroom environment, this role focuses on sterile compounding and maintaining stringent regulatory compliance to ensure the highest quality in sterile pharmacy production. This contract position offers Monday through Friday day shifts from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the possibility of direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding using validated aseptic techniques in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and applicable state and federal regulations, ensuring every product meets high-quality standards.
- Maintain and sanitize the ISO-classified cleanroom environment through routine cleaning and environmental control activities.
- Execute production tasks including equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and documentation with precision and care.
- Prepare batches, stage materials, and collaborate effectively with pharmacists and supervisors to achieve daily compounding goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analyses and waste reduction efforts, to enhance workflow and operational efficiency.
- Support quality assurance through visual inspections, cleaning validations, sample handling, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Adhere strictly to garbing and gowning protocols and cleanroom behavioral standards to protect product sterility and team safety.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, pharmacists, and team members about workload, equipment status, and process improvements to promote a respectful and productive work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques, aseptic behavior, and cleanroom operations.
- Ability to accurately follow detailed written procedures, compounding formulas, and batch records.
- Proficient with basic math calculations and detail-oriented in measurement tasks.
- Comfortable working in personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile garb over extended periods.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills suited for fast-paced production settings.
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability for work quality and compliance.
- Holds a valid Michigan pharmacy technician license.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
