An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician skilled in retail and specialty pharmacy to support a team focused on complex patient care. This temp-to-hire role requires a professional who excels in communication and compassion while managing the needs of patients with chronic illnesses.
Location:
- Dublin, OH
Schedule: - Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no weekends)
Contract Length: - Initial 13-week assignment with potential for permanent placement
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacy staff and patients to ensure understanding and adherence to complex medication regimens, which often involve 8 to 15 medications daily.
- Utilize Pioneer Rx software for prescription processing; prior experience is preferred but training will be provided.
- Provide compassionate care and clear communication to a patient population primarily consisting of Medicare/Medicaid recipients with low income and literacy levels.
- Maintain detailed records and support pharmacy compliance standards.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven retail and specialty pharmacy technician experience.
- Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail medications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate patiently and effectively with patients dealing with advanced chronic illnesses.
- Experience working with low literacy populations is highly beneficial.
- Explicit documentation on resume of experience supporting patients with chronic conditions.
