Pharmacy Technician in Dunedin, FL

Seeking an experienced pharmacy technician with a strong background in retail pharmacy operations to support a 13-week contract assignment. This role requires a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional comfortable working Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, based in Clearwater, FL. Candidates should be ready to start ASAP or within approximately two weeks after an offer is extended.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions accurately, manage insurance adjudications, and efficiently resolve claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification to ensure patient safety.
• Perform data entry duties and maintain prescription paperwork while effectively communicating with patients and prescribers.
• Monitor and maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
• Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures to uphold compliance standards.
• Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support the team and departmental needs.
• Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations, ensuring legal and ethical compliance.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably with retail pharmacy and some call center exposure.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable making phone calls.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
