A retail-focused pharmacy technician role is available on a 13-week contract basis in Clearwater, FL. This position requires a candidate with strong retail pharmacy experience rather than a hospital background. The ideal individual will be tech savvy, comfortable using Microsoft Office, and confident making phone calls to patients and providers.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Process and fill prescriptions accurately while handling insurance adjudications and resolving rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform thorough data entry and manage prescription paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train on various pharmacy functions to support department needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license.
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience with a preference for retail and some call center exposure.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic pharmacy environment, supporting efficient medication dispensing and exceptional patient service. Immediate start available, typically 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer clearance.
