An established healthcare organization is launching a new outpatient pharmacy in Newark, NJ, and seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support this exciting community-focused initiative. This full-time, contract-to-hire position offers the rare opportunity to help build a pharmacy from the ground up, serving a diverse patient population with quality pharmaceutical care.

Location:

  • Newark, NJ

Schedule:

  • Monday through Saturday
  • Day shift hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and dispensing duties
  • Accurately enter and maintain patient and prescription records
  • Support inventory management and medication ordering tasks
  • Process insurance claims and resolve related billing questions
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active New Jersey Pharmacy Technician registration or license required
  • Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems such as PrimeRx or MicroMerchant advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered service
