Pharmacy Technician - Elyria, Ohio

A retail pharmacy technician position is available in Elyria, OH, ideal for candidates with specialty retail experience. This role supports a specialty pharmacy serving complex patients who often manage 8-15 medications daily. It offers a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions in a fast-paced setting.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, MS, and RA.
• Assist patients, many of whom are Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries with low literacy levels, ensuring clear understanding of medication regimens.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain compliance and support patient care.

Qualifications:

• Ohio pharmacy technician license required.
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in retail pharmacy, specifically in specialty pharmacy environments, is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated patience and strong communication skills in working with complex, chronic disease populations.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
