Pharmacy Technician in Elyria, OH

An established specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract-to-hire position in Elyria, OH. This role focuses on supporting complex patient cases, where individuals typically manage 8-15 medications daily. Candidates with strong communication skills, patience, and a robust understanding of the top 200-400 retail medications will excel in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill and verify prescription orders for patients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
• Provide compassionate patient counseling and support, addressing the needs of a primarily low-income, Medicare/Medicaid population with varying literacy levels.
• Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy management.
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Experience in retail pharmacy is required; specialty retail pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients who require additional patience and empathy.
• Knowledge of complex medication regimens and familiarity with chronic disease states.
• Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license; PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
