Pharmacy Technician - Evanston, IL

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Pharmacy Technician seeking to contribute to an outpatient pharmacy setting using your clinical and technical skills. Based in Evanston, IL, this contract-to-hire role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a consistent daytime work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process medication orders and prescriptions, ensuring correct packaging and dispensing of dosage forms.
• Utilize the Pioneer RX computer system and follow protocols for medication storage, preparation, labeling, cart fills, unit dose distribution, controlled substance reconciliation, and supply purchasing.
• Support pharmacists by assisting in patient, physician, and nursing education.
• Retrieve and provide timely, precise drug information to healthcare team members.
• Collect patient-specific data related to pharmacotherapy, including screening for IV to oral conversions, renal dosing adjustments, allergies, and non-formulary prescriptions.
• Assist in clinical pharmacokinetics by calculating creatinine clearance and helping design safe and effective medication regimens.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
• Prior experience working in a hospital outpatient pharmacy environment.
• Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing.
• Possession of a valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
