Pharmacy Technician - Fayetteville, AR

A temporary lead pharmacy technician opportunity is available in Fayetteville, AR, offering a vital role supporting inpatient adolescent and adult behavioral health pharmacy services. This contract position requires coverage of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, starting July 27th and continuing until a permanent technician is hired. Weekend coverage is not required.

Key responsibilities include filling medication orders, delivering medications to medication rooms, managing and stocking inventory, receiving and reconciling daily warehouse orders, processing recalls, assisting with medication room audits, and providing overall support to pharmacists. Initial onboarding consists of two days of hospital orientation, followed by pharmacy-specific training from the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacist staff.

The ideal candidate will possess an active Arkansas pharmacy technician license and preferably hold national certification. Experience in inpatient or retail pharmacy settings is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is advantageous; however, training will be provided in both systems. The site currently maintains approximately 1.2 pharmacist full-time equivalents.

• Dress code is business casual or scrubs in any color except blue, as blue resembles patient attire.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current Arkansas pharmacy technician license
• National pharmacy technician certification preferred
• Experience in inpatient or retail pharmacy preferred
• Willingness to learn new systems (HCS, Omnicell)
• Ability to work independently as a lead technician
• Strong organizational and communication skills
