Pharmacy Tech - Freeport, Illinois

An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support a long-term care and mail order pharmacy environment. This temp-to-hire position is based in Freeport, IL, offering a structured schedule with the potential for permanent placement upon successful completion of the temporary period.

Location: Freeport, IL
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Rotating Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  Type: Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Pharmacy Services Representative (PSR) duties including billing and insurance verification
• Communicate effectively with nurses, pharmacists, and patients to ensure optimal medication coverage
• Manage data entry tasks accurately within the QS1 computer system
• Collaborate in a team setting to support patient care and workflow efficiency

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, particularly in PSR and billing roles
• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with long-term care and mail order pharmacy operations preferred
• Experience with QS1 pharmacy system is highly beneficial
