Pharmacy Technician in Gardena, CA

This opportunity seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a busy hospital setting. The position focuses on medication preparation and distribution, with an emphasis on precision and efficiency in a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately
• Prepare intravenous solutions, including IVPBs and TPNs
• Answer telephones and respond promptly to nursing unit requests
• Deliver medications reliably to nursing units throughout the facility
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon for order entry and pharmacy documentation

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required
• Demonstrated expertise in making IVs and filling Pyxis cabinets is essential
• Ability to work proficiently with Allscripts/Paragon systems is preferred
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with nursing and pharmacy teams

Schedule:

• Coverage during variable days and afternoons to meet hospital needs

Location:

• Position based in Gardena, CA, within a hospital licensed for 173 beds and supporting an average daily census of approximately 140 patients

This contract role offers month-to-month assignment scheduling, initially booking for an 8-week period, providing flexibility and ongoing opportunities within a supportive healthcare environment.
