This opportunity seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a 173-licensed bed facility with an average daily census around 140. The role requires expertise in preparing IV medications and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and compound intravenous medications, including IVPBs and TPNs
- Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to ensure efficient medication availability
- Answer telephone inquiries related to pharmacy services
- Deliver medications promptly to nursing units to support patient care
- Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems for processing medication orders
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Pharmacy Technician license
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong proficiency in making IVs and managing Pyxis systems
- Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon or similar order entry software
- Ability to work variable day and afternoon shifts effectively
Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts covering day and afternoon hours
Position Details:
- Contract assignment with month-to-month extensions, initially booked for 8 weeks
