Pharmacy Technician - Gardena, CA

A Pharmacy Technician position is available for a travel assignment in the Los Angeles area, covering two hospitals approximately 20 miles apart. The role involves supporting pharmacy operations between these sites to ensure efficient medication distribution and patient care.

Location:

• Rotate between two hospital locations: Gardena and Norwalk, CA

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable shifts during day and afternoon hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and fill automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis)
• Make intravenous medications, including IVPBs and TPNs
• Deliver medications to nursing units promptly and accurately
• Answer telephone inquiries related to pharmacy services
• Perform order entry utilizing Allscripts/Paragon system
• Handle various inpatient pharmacy duties to support clinical operations

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience required
• Proficiency in making IVs and filling Pyxis cabinets is mandatory
• Familiarity with order entry systems, ideally Allscripts/Paragon
• Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and multiple hospital environments
