Pharmacy Technician | Gardena, California

A skilled Pharmacy Technician is needed for a travel assignment serving two hospitals in the Los Angeles area. This position involves floating between facilities approximately 20 miles apart, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment with variable day and afternoon shifts.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience
• Proficiency in preparing IVs, including IVPBs and TPNs
• Expertise in filling and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Experience using order entry systems, preferably Allscripts and Paragon
• Strong communication skills to handle telephone inquiries and coordinate medication deliveries

Location:

• Primary locations include two hospitals in the Los Angeles area, with travel required between Gardena and Norwalk, CA

Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Prepare and verify intravenous medications, including IVPBs and total parenteral nutrition
• Deliver medications promptly to nursing units and respond to telephone requests
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon systems for order entry and medication management
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols during all pharmacy procedures

Schedule:

• Variable shifts covering days and afternoons to meet hospital demand
