Pharmacy Technician - Gardena, California

Support patient care as a skilled Pharmacy Technician floating between two hospitals in the Los Angeles area. This contract position offers the opportunity to utilize and expand your inpatient pharmacy expertise while working closely with nursing units to ensure timely medication delivery and accurate preparation.

Position Details:

• Location: Hospitals located in Gardena and Norwalk, CA (approximately 20 miles apart)
• Type: Contract assignment lasting 8 weeks or longer
• Schedule: Variable day and afternoon shifts
• System Experience: Allscripts/Paragon for order entry; Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including IVPBs and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
• Fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately and efficiently
• Answer telephone inquiries related to pharmacy services
• Deliver medications promptly to nursing units, supporting inpatient care teams
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain medication safety standards

Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required
• Strong proficiency in making IVs and filling Pyxis cabinets
• Comfortable working with order entry systems such as Allscripts or Paragon
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to variable shift hours
