Retail Pharmacy Technician in Gilbert, AZ

A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases by dispensing high-cost, specialty medications and providing tailored patient and provider support. This contract position offers a fast start with potential for direct hire upon completion of the initial assignment.

Location: Gilbert, AZ
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, Contract to Hire possibility)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense rare and orphan drugs in compliance with specialty pharmacy protocols
• Collaborate closely with providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals, navigate insurance processes, and secure patient assistance programs, grants, rebates, and other financial support
• Deliver high-touch clinical counseling and clear communication tailored to patient and provider needs
• Manage specialty pharmacy workflows using McKesson Enterprise (ERx) systems
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and pharmacy standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license in Arizona in good standing
• Proven experience specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy setting; retail pharmacists dispensing specialty medications without specialty pharmacy experience will not be considered
• Experience working in specialty retail and/or specialty mail-order pharmacy preferred
• Familiarity with rare/orphan disease treatments and associated insurance/payment complexities
• Strong clinical knowledge combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide detailed specialty pharmacy references and demonstrate expertise on resume in relevant disease states
