A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists with a strong background in designated specialty pharmacy settings to manage rare and orphan drug therapies. This role focuses on supporting patients with rare diseases by facilitating access to highly specialized medications, including navigating approvals and financial assistance programs.

Location:

  • Gilbert, AZ

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, Days

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and manage specialty pharmaceuticals with a focus on rare/orphan drugs
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective communication and support throughout the medication access process
  • Assist patients and providers with navigating insurance approvals, grants, rebates, and other financial assistance programs
  • Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system to document and manage specialty pharmacy workflows
  • Provide expert clinical guidance related to specialty medication therapies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active, clear, and good standing Arizona Pharmacist License is required
  • Proven experience working specifically in a designated specialty pharmacy setting; retail pharmacists without specialty pharmacy experience will not be considered
  • Familiarity with specialty retail and/or specialty mail order environments is highly preferred
  • Strong clinical expertise and exceptional communication skills to engage with patients and providers in a high-touch, supportive environment
  • Experience managing therapies for rare diseases and complex medication access situations

Additional Information:

  • Contract role with a 13-week duration and potential for contract-to-hire consideration
  • Immediate start preferred
  • Submittal requires an updated resume, one specialty pharmacy reference, a copy of current Arizona license, and clear documentation of specialty pharmacy experience including disease states handled
