Retail Pharmacy Technician in Gilbert, AZ

A unique opportunity is available for experienced Specialty Pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases through a specialized pharmacy environment. This contract role offers the potential for direct hire after 13 weeks and requires a strong background in specialty pharmacy, particularly in handling rare and costly medications.

Location: Gilbert, AZ
Type: Contract (13 weeks) with Contract to Hire potential
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage dispensing and clinical oversight of rare/orphan drugs within a specialty pharmacy setting
• Facilitate high-touch communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure proper drug usage and adherence
• Assist patients and providers with navigating insurance approvals, payment assistance programs, grants, rebates, and other financial resources
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations
• Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with regulatory standards and quality guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Arizona pharmacist license in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience; candidates with retail pharmacy experience alone will not be considered
• Expertise in designated specialty retail and/or specialty mail order pharmacy is preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills essential for working closely with patients and healthcare providers
• Experience working with complicated drug approval processes and cost assistance mechanisms
• Ability to provide references from specialty pharmacy work, with clear documentation of disease states specialized in
