Retail Pharmacy Technician in Glendale, AZ

A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists with a strong background in designated specialty pharmacy practice to support patients dealing with rare and orphan diseases. These pharmacists will play a critical role in managing high-cost, complex medications while providing exceptional patient care and support.

Location: Glendale, AZ
Type: Contract (13 weeks) with possible direct hire opportunity
Shift: Monday through Friday, day shift
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage specialty pharmacy medications focusing on rare/orphan diseases.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals, payment assistance, grants, rebates, and other financial programs.
• Provide high-touch communication to navigate the complexities surrounding specialty drug use.
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system to manage specialty pharmacy operations.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active and clear Arizona pharmacist license in good standing.
• Proven experience working specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy (retail or mail order); pure retail experience without defined specialty pharmacy practice will not be considered.
• Expertise in handling rare disease medications and patient/provider coordination related to these therapies.
• Strong clinical skills combined with excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to support patients in managing cost-related issues involving specialty drugs.

• At least one reference from a specialty pharmacy setting.
• Copy of valid Arizona pharmacist license.
