A certified Pharmacy Technician is sought to travel across Maryland and Virginia, serving as a vital point of contact between multiple healthcare facilities and the pharmacy. This direct hire opportunity requires strong interpersonal skills and a background in long-term care pharmacy settings. The role involves frequent travel to various locations including Alexandria, Richmond, Gloucester, and selected Maryland sites, ensuring streamlined communication and exceptional pharmacy service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with facility leadership and staff across assigned territory
- Act as the primary liaison for assigned facilities, aligning pharmacy services with the specific needs of each client
- Provide expert guidance on medication therapy, regulatory compliance, and operational improvements
- Deliver training and educational sessions on pharmacy and facility systems, medication protocols, and new service offerings
- Conduct monthly onsite visits, medication cart inspections, and survey preparation to support continuous quality improvement
- Collaborate closely with pharmacy operations and clinical service directors to resolve client inquiries and issues promptly
- Identify opportunities to expand pharmacy services tailored to facility requirements
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Pharmacy Technician certification for Virginia and Maryland required; PTCB certification strongly preferred
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is highly valued
- Proficiency with pharmacy and medication management software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks preferred
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including potential overnight stays
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional late audits requiring flexibility
- Primarily a 40-hour workweek with minimal weekend requirements
