This direct hire opportunity is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed in Virginia and Maryland to serve as a traveling liaison between pharmacy services and various healthcare facilities throughout Maryland and Virginia. This dynamic role offers a chance to engage with multiple sites, including locations such as Alexandria, Fairfax, Richmond, Hampton, and others within the region, supporting long-term care settings through hands-on collaboration and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with facility leadership and staff, acting as the primary contact between assigned accounts and the pharmacy.
- Provide expert guidance on medication therapy, compliance, and best practices in partnership with clinical services and pharmacy operations directors.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high-quality customer care.
- Identify opportunities to expand pharmacy services and introduce new products tailored to client needs.
- Conduct training and educational sessions on pharmacy systems, medication management, and start-up procedures.
- Perform monthly onsite visits, including reporting, medication cart and room inspections, medication pass observations, and survey preparations.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal pharmacy teams to enable seamless service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Pharmacy Technician licenses for Virginia and Maryland are required.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is highly preferred.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medication distribution and pharmacy software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks is preferred.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for travel across assigned facilities; occasional overnight stays may be required.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Occasional flexibility for later audits may be needed.
- Rare weekend work.
