Pharmacy Technician - Helotes, TX

A Pharmacy Technician role is available on a contract basis to provide immediate coverage starting Monday, the 14th, until a permanent hire is made. This position supports a busy pharmacy team in Helotes, TX, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety during the 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare medications by reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling for pharmacist dispensing
• Dispense medications accurately, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions
• Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, entering orders, rotating stock, and ordering supplies as needed
• Support daily pharmacy workflow including opening and closing procedures to maintain timely service delivery
• Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams to ensure clear medication instructions and support
• Adhere strictly to compliance standards, follow quality checklists, and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform specialized tasks where applicable, such as operating dispensing machines/robotics, assisting with IV room operations, and compounding sterile or non-sterile preparations

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Pharmacy Technician certification or licensure according to state requirements
• Proven experience in medication preparation, dispensing, and pharmacy operations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with pharmacy software, insurance processing, and inventory management systems highly preferred
