A specialty pharmacy management group is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support specialty medication accessibility and affordability at a clinic-based specialty pharmacy in Rockville, MD. This direct hire opportunity offers an on-site role focused on enhancing the patient experience through collaboration with specialty care clinics and pharmacy teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete prior authorizations and assist with patient benefit investigations
- Source financial assistance programs for specialty medications
- Process pharmacy claims and coordinate dispensing and shipping of medications
- Serve as a liaison among patients, providers, and pharmacists to address questions and requests
- Support administrative tasks including billing and provider correspondence
- Contribute to building and refining workflows in a dynamic, start-up environment
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with registration or licensure in Maryland
- Prior outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy experience required; infusion experience preferred
- Proficiency with specialty pharmacy software and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Therigy) is a plus
- Familiarity with specialty medications typically used in autoimmune, endocrinology, and oncology therapeutic areas, with willingness to learn additional areas
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills demonstrated through collaboration with providers and ability to assist with documentation such as appeals letters
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% of the time to various client sites
