A retail-focused Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available with a well-established pharmacy looking for a motivated professional to fill a temp-to-hire role. This position offers approximately 32 hours per week with the potential for long-term career growth. Location: Independence, MO
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating shifts: 8:00 am–3:00 pm or 10:00 am–5:30 pm
Contract Duration: 13+ weeks (Temp-to-Perm)
Daily Volume: Approximately 150 prescriptions
Software: PioneerRx
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting patients both in-person and over the phone, addressing questions and resolving medication or insurance concerns
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a fast-paced retail environment
- Support non-sterile compounding of medications with provided training, following established formulas and safety protocols
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure timely medication dispensing
- Manage inventory by stocking medications and maintaining organized storage of all pharmacy supplies
Qualifications:
- Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
- Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy technician experience; candidates with closed-door backgrounds may find the high patient interaction challenging
- PTCB certification is a plus but not required
- Strong team player with a determined, positive attitude and excellent communication skills
