Pharmacy Technician | Independence, Missouri

A retail-focused Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available with potential for permanent placement in a growing pharmacy setting. This role requires a motivated individual skilled in pharmacy operations, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork. The position offers approximately 32 hours per week with weekday shifts and aims for long-term employment with full benefits upon permanent hire.

Location: • Independence, MO (near Broadway in Kansas City)

Schedule/Hours: • Monday to Friday • Rotating shifts between 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and 10:00 am – 5:30 pm

Key Responsibilities: • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients in person and over the phone, addressing medication and insurance inquiries, and resolving issues • Accurately process prescriptions, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling, while maintaining efficiency in a high-volume setting (~150 prescriptions per day) • Participate in non-sterile compounding activities with provided training, following safety and formulation guidelines • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure prompt medication dispensing • Manage inventory controls, restock medications, and maintain organization and proper storage of pharmacy supplies

Qualifications: • Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License required • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Retail Pharmacy Technician; candidates must be comfortable with direct patient interaction and high foot traffic • PTCB certification is advantageous but not mandatory • Positive, determined, and collaborative team player attitude
