Pharmacy Technician in Independence, MO

A well-established pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician with recent retail experience to work approximately 32 hours per week. This role offers a great opportunity for long-term growth with the potential for permanent employment. Full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, become available upon direct hire. Candidates with a closed-door, long-term care, or hospital background are not a fit for this position due to the fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Location: Independence, MO (near 4400 Broadway, Kansas City)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, rotating shifts between 8:00 am–3:00 pm and 10:00 am–5:30 pm
Contract Length: 13+ weeks, temp-to-perm opportunity
Volume: Approximately 150 prescriptions per day
Software: PioneerRx

Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service by assisting patients in person and over the phone, addressing medication and insurance inquiries
• Accurately process prescriptions including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a high-volume environment
• Support non-sterile compounding following training and strict safety guidelines
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure prescription clarity and timely medication dispensing
• Manage inventory, stock medications, and maintain organized pharmacy supplies

Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience (high patient interaction and fast-paced workflow required)
• PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Positive attitude, team-oriented, and determined to succeed
