An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician with a strong recent retail background to join a dynamic pharmacy team. This role offers approximately 32 hours per week and is structured as a contract-to-hire position, with the goal of transitioning to permanent employment. Once permanent, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage are available.

Location:
Independence, MO

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Rotating shifts: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM / 10:00 AM–5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients in person and via phone, addressing inquiries, and resolving medication or insurance concerns
  • Accurately process prescriptions through data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a fast-paced environment managing approximately 150 prescriptions daily
  • Support non-sterile compounding activities with provided training, preparing medications in compliance with established formulas and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure timely dispensing
  • Manage inventory control, medication stocking, and maintain proper organization of pharmacy supplies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience; candidates with closed-door or hospital-only backgrounds are not suitable for this role due to high patient interaction and volume
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is a plus but not mandatory
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong determination, and a team-oriented mindset
