An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacy Technician at a specialized AIDS/HIV community health pharmacy in Arlington, TX. This contract role begins ASAP on April 6 and spans approximately 13 weeks. The shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This position requires working within an AIDS/HIV specialty pharmacy environment, demanding a respectful and nonjudgmental approach to patient interactions. The technician will perform typical retail pharmacy duties including accurate data entry and medication dispensing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Dispensing medications following established protocols
- Maintaining accurate patient and prescription records
- Communicating effectively with patients, providing supportive and compassionate service
- Navigating pharmacy software systems, primarily QS1
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting
- Prior experience dispensing HIV/AIDS medications is essential
- Strong patient communication skills with sensitivity to the community served
- Licensed as a Texas Pharmacy Technician; PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
- Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software is preferred
- Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable
