Pharmacy Technician in Irving, TX

This opportunity offers an immediate opening for a Pharmacy Technician at a specialty pharmacy focusing on AIDS/HIV care. The position requires a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient interaction within a community health setting.

Location: Irving, TX (with work occurring at a community health facility in Arlington, TX) Job Type: Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP on 4/6 Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Perform typical retail pharmacy duties including data entry and medication dispensing
• Maintain respectful and clear communication with patients, recognizing the sensitive nature of HIV/AIDS care
• Utilize pharmacy software (preferably QS1) to process prescriptions effectively and accurately

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1-year experience working in a retail pharmacy setting
• Prior experience dispensing for HIV/AIDS patients is essential
• Strong patient communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations
• Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly to new procedures and environments
• Texas Pharmacy Technician license required; PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Spanish language skills are highly preferred to support patient communication
