This opportunity offers an immediate opening for a Pharmacy Technician at a specialty pharmacy focusing on AIDS/HIV care. The position requires a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient interaction within a community health setting.
Location: Irving, TX (with work occurring at a community health facility in Arlington, TX) Job Type: Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP on 4/6 Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Perform typical retail pharmacy duties including data entry and medication dispensing
- Maintain respectful and clear communication with patients, recognizing the sensitive nature of HIV/AIDS care
- Utilize pharmacy software (preferably QS1) to process prescriptions effectively and accurately
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year experience working in a retail pharmacy setting
- Prior experience dispensing for HIV/AIDS patients is essential
- Strong patient communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly to new procedures and environments
- Texas Pharmacy Technician license required; PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
- Spanish language skills are highly preferred to support patient communication
