An experienced Pharmacy Technician with IV certification is needed to support a specialty infusion pharmacy serving Northern Virginia, including areas around DC and Maryland. This contract-to-hire position offers an opportunity to engage in a hybrid role balancing patient care coordination with hands-on sterile compounding and pharmacy operations. Immediate availability and a smooth integration into the workflow are essential.

- Alexandria, VA (candidates may commute from DC or MD areas)
Role Overview:
- Approximately 50–70% Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) duties
- Approximately 30–50% dispensing and clean room support
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) Duties (50–70%)
- Process patient referrals and intake documentation efficiently
- Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility
- Assist with prior authorizations and communicate with payers
- Coordinate therapy initiation and timely medication delivery
- Maintain clear communication with healthcare providers, patients, and clinical staff
- Track and update patient records to monitor therapy progress
Pharmacy Operations & Clean Room Support (30–50%)
- Support prescription processing and medication dispensing workflows
- Assist in sterile compounding and clean room operations following USP <797> compliance
- Help manage inventory and medication preparation tasks
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists for accurate order fulfillment
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (Virginia preferred)
- PTCB certification strongly preferred
- Experience in specialty or infusion pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy environments
- Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance processing is a plus
- Previous sterile compounding and clean room experience highly desired
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to start immediately
