An opening position is available for a Pharmacy Technician with IV certification to join a specialty infusion pharmacy-focused team in Northern Virginia. This contract-to-hire role emphasizes both patient care coordination and sterile compounding, offering a dynamic hybrid workflow environment.
Location:
- Northern Virginia, with candidates considered from the DC or Maryland areas
- Hybrid work model blending remote and on-site responsibilities
Schedule:
- Full-time hours with immediate start availability
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Coordination (50–70%): Manage patient referrals and intake, verify insurance benefits, assist with prior authorizations, coordinate therapy initiation and medication delivery, and maintain thorough patient records and communication with healthcare providers and clinical staff.
- Pharmacy Operations & Clean Room Support (30–50%): Assist in prescription processing and dispensing, prepare sterile compounds under USP <797> standards, manage inventory, and collaborate closely with pharmacists to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (Virginia license preferred)
- PTCB certification strongly preferred
- Experience in specialty or infusion pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy environments
- Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance claim processing
- Proven competence in sterile compounding and clean room operations
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting
- Availability to start immediately
