A pharmacy technician role is available, focusing on sterile compounding and clinical support for infusion therapies in a home infusion setting. This direct hire opportunity requires expertise in preparing injectable and oral medications under pharmacist supervision, strictly following state pharmacy regulations and established sterile compounding standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare IV/infused medications adhering to USP 797 and USP 800 standards as well as applicable state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain accurate call and shipment schedules to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Collect, document, and communicate patient and clinical information effectively with pharmacy and healthcare staff.
- Enter prescription and patient data efficiently into the pharmacy’s software system in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Clean and maintain the sterile compounding clean room per company protocols and BOP requirements.
- Engage in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with continuing education requirements and complete annual re-credentialing.
- Receive and store medications and supplies appropriately.
- Package and prepare medications and supplies for shipment to patient homes.
- Perform regular inventory counts and adhere to formulary management policies.
- Obtain additional state technical licensure/registration as needed to support regional operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current NY pharmacy technician license and PTCB certification in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year infusion setting experience preferred; IV hospital technician experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with CareTend pharmacy software system.
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding practices and pharmacy regulations.
