A Lexington-based healthcare facility specializing in long-term care is seeking a dedicated Lead IV Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This role focuses on leadership within the IV compounding area, ensuring medication safety and sterility in a closed-door environment. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on compounding experience and possess a solid understanding of aseptic techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee daily operations in the compounding room
- Prepare intravenous (IV) medications adhering strictly to USP 797 standards and aseptic techniques
- Manage inventory and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Cross-train in the narcotics department to support pharmacy operations
- Utilize software frameworks to document and manage prescriptions efficiently
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years recent hands-on IV compounding experience; more experience preferred
- Lead tech experience is advantageous but not required
- PTCB certification is highly preferred but not a requirement
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to attendance and reliability
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Rotating weekends
