An immediate opening is available for a Lead IV Pharmacy Technician in Lexington, Kentucky, supporting a closed-door long-term care facility. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with recent, hands-on experience compounding in a clean room environment. While prior leadership experience as a lead tech is not mandatory, strong organizational skills and a commitment to precision are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations within the compounding room, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using strict aseptic techniques to maintain sterility
- Manage inventory levels and maintain compliance with USP 797 standards and regulatory requirements
- Cross-train in the narcotics department to broaden operational support
- Utilize Frameworks software (training provided) for workflow management
- Handle a high volume of approximately 600 prescriptions per day
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Rotating weekend shifts
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum of 2 years recent compounding experience; additional experience preferred
- Prior PTCB certification highly preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and reliability
