A leading healthcare facility in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking an experienced Day Shift Lead IV Pharmacy Technician to oversee compounding operations within a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) setting. This direct hire opportunity demands attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining sterile environments in accordance with USP 797 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities in the compounding clean room.
- Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using strict aseptic techniques to ensure sterility.
- Manage inventory to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Ensure full compliance with USP 797 and related pharmacy regulations.
- Cross-train in the narcotics department to support multi-department operations.
- Utilize Frameworks software system (training provided if needed).
- Manage a high volume workload of approximately 600 prescriptions per day.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Rotating weekends required
Qualifications:
- Active, clear KY Pharmacy Technician license.
- Recent hands-on IV compounding experience with a minimum of 2 years preferred.
- Lead technician experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification highly preferred.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, especially regarding attendance.
