An opportunity is available for an experienced IV/Chemo Pharmacy Technician specializing in outpatient oncology infusion. This position supports an infusion center focused on chemotherapy and hematology treatments, excluding blood transfusions. The role requires a strong background in oncology pharmacy settings, with essential skills in IV start techniques and accessing implanted ports for treatment administration.
Location:
- Canton, GA (NOTE: Candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer chemotherapy and select hematology infusions in an outpatient oncology setting
- Safely handle and manage cytotoxic agents with strict adherence to protocols
- Access implanted ports and perform IV starts as required for treatment delivery
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and clinical staff to ensure accurate medication preparation and patient safety
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in oncology or infusion pharmacy environments
- Certification as an IV/Chemo Pharmacy Technician or equivalent
- Valid Georgia Pharmacy Technician License
- Demonstrated proficiency with chemotherapy preparation and infusion techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a sterile environment and comply with safety guidelines
