Lead IV Pharmacy Technician – Day Shift
Nicholasville, KY | Contract

An urgent opportunity requires a skilled Pharmacy Technician with IV compounding expertise to lead the compounding operations in a closed-door, long-term care facility. This role demands strong attention to detail and consistent attendance, as maintaining high standards of sterile preparation and compliance is critical. While prior lead technician experience is not mandatory, candidates should be prepared to take on leadership responsibilities within the compounding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations within the compounding room, ensuring efficiency and adherence to procedures
  • Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using aseptic techniques, maintaining strict sterility in accordance with USP 797
  • Manage medication inventory and ensure accurate tracking
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Cross-train and assist in the narcotics department to support pharmacy services
  • Utilize the Frameworks software system (training provided) to document and manage workflow
  • Handle a volume of approximately 600 prescriptions per day

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Rotating weekend coverage

Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license
  • Recent, hands-on IV compounding experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of compounding experience; more preferred
  • PTCB certification is highly preferred but not required
  • Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and reliability
