A pharmacy technician position is available for a 4-month contract in Owasso, OK, focusing on IV/home infusion services. The role requires an Oklahoma pharmacy technician license in-hand and IV certification, with immediate start and assignment through December 31. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Compound sterile infusions and prepare medications following strict procedures.
- Accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance.
- Maintain confidential patient and pharmacy records accurately.
- Provide patient consultations regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Educate patients on the proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems and optimize therapies.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Oklahoma pharmacy technician license.
- IV certification with compounding experience in infused drugs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients.
- Membership in pharmacy professional organizations is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
