Apply NowA specialized opportunity is available for an IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician in a fast-paced infusion center setting. This 13-week contract-to-hire role involves working within a clean room environment where patients receive critical treatments, including chemotherapy. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with pharmacists to ensure the highest standards of medication preparation and patient care.
Location:
- Panama City Beach, FL
Schedule:
- Full-time, 1st shift
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound intravenous medications under pharmacist supervision, maintaining accuracy and compliance with OSHA and internal protocols.
- Verify medication orders, patient data, and drug quality; maintain essential documentation, including logs, temperature records, and controlled substance tracking.
- Ensure clean room standards by cleaning hoods, managing proper disposal of materials, and updating drug information and MSDS sheets.
- Oversee pharmacy inventory through tasks such as receiving, shelving, labeling, billing, and accurate data entry to support efficient operations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to five years of pharmacy experience with specific expertise in IV compounding.
- IV certification strongly preferred.
- Florida Certified Pharmacy Technician license required.
- National Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
- Experience in chemotherapy compounding considered a strong asset.
