An infusion center is seeking a highly skilled IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician for a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves working closely within a clean room environment where patients receive treatment, including chemotherapy. This position requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and strong compounding expertise.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound intravenous medications under pharmacist supervision with meticulous attention to dosing accuracy, authorizations, insurance approvals, and compliance with OSHA and departmental policies.
- Verify medication orders, patient information, and drug integrity; maintain detailed logs, temperature records, lot numbers, and documentation of controlled substances.
- Ensure work areas remain clean and compliant, including hood cleaning, proper disposal of materials, and maintaining up-to-date drug information and MSDS sheets.
- Manage inventory processes including receiving, shelving, labeling, billing, and performing accurate data entry to support efficient pharmacy operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience with demonstrated IV compounding skills.
- Preferred IV certification.
- Must hold a valid Florida Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate.
- National Pharmacy Technician License is a plus.
- Experience with chemotherapy compounding strongly preferred.
