An opening opportunity is available for a Day Shift Lead IV Pharmacy Technician in Richmond, Kentucky, focused on providing top-tier pharmaceutical compounding services within a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) facility. This role is ideal for an experienced technician with strong hands-on skills in sterile IV compounding, who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities in the clean room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee compounding activities within the clean room to ensure accuracy and sterility
  • Prepare intravenous (IV) medications adhering to aseptic techniques and USP 797 standards
  • Manage inventory control to maintain necessary medication supplies
  • Ensure full compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety protocols
  • Cross-train in the narcotics department to support broader pharmacy operations
  • Utilize and learn Frameworks software systems to streamline workflow

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current, clear, and active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license
  • Recent and substantial hands-on experience compounding IV medications (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Prior leadership experience in a pharmacy setting is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and USP 797 compliance standards
  • PTCB certification is highly preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance and a solid work ethic are critical in this role

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Rotating weekends required

This position offers an immediate start with a contract to direct hire pathway. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards in patient safety and medication preparation within a fast-paced environment averaging about 600 prescriptions daily.
