Pharmacy Technician - Kalamazoo, MI

A retail pharmacy setting is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, allowing for potential direct hire after the initial period. The position requires a candidate with strong pharmacy technician experience and retail knowledge, ensuring efficient medication dispensing and excellent customer service.

Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 8.5-hour shifts with rotating start times: 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:30 AM
• Pharmacy closes at 6:00 PM on Fridays
• No weekend hours initially; weekend shifts may be introduced in the future

Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
• Manage prescription processing using the Pioneer RX computer system (experience is a plus)
• Provide outstanding customer service in a retail pharmacy environment
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements
• Support inventory management, including stocking and verifying medication supplies
• Perform other pharmacy-related tasks as assigned by the pharmacist in charge

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Pharmacy Technician experience required
• Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred
• Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License mandatory
• Familiarity with Pioneer RX system is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
