A dynamic opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician with a strong recent retail background to join a thriving pharmacy team in Kansas City, MO. This position offers approximately 32 hours per week with a goal of transitioning into permanent employment, providing a pathway for long-term growth within the company. Location:
- Kansas City, MO (4400 Broadway, 64111)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Rotating shifts: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting patients both in person and over the phone, addressing questions and resolving medication or insurance concerns effectively
- Accurately process prescriptions including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a high-volume setting averaging 150 prescriptions per day
- Support non-sterile compounding activities, with training provided to ensure safe and precise medication preparation
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers for prescription clarifications and timely dispensing
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, stock shelves, and organize supplies to ensure operational efficiency
Qualifications:
- Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
- Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy technician experience; must be comfortable with heavy foot traffic and significant patient interaction (closed-door or hospital backgrounds are not suitable for this role)
- PTCB certification is an advantage but not required
- Positive, determined, and collaborative team player mindset
