Pharmacy Technician | Kansas City, Missouri

A reputable pharmacy is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician with recent retail experience to join their team in Kansas City, MO. This contract-to-hire role offers an excellent opportunity for approximately 32 hours per week with potential for permanent employment. Upon conversion to permanent status, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage is available.

Location:

• Kansas City, MO (4400 Broadway 64111)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating shifts from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering outstanding customer service by assisting patients in person and by phone, answering queries, and resolving medication or insurance concerns
• Processing prescriptions accurately and efficiently, including data entry, insurance billing, and medication labeling, within a high-volume environment (approximately 150 prescriptions per day)
• Supporting non-sterile compounding tasks, adhering to established formulas and safety protocols (training provided)
• Collaborating closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure timely dispensing
• Managing inventory, stocking medications, and maintaining proper storage and organization of pharmacy supplies

Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy technician experience—technicians from closed-door backgrounds may face challenges due to the high patient interaction and foot traffic
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Strong team player with determination and a positive attitude
