A dynamic opportunity is available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to provide expert support across multiple healthcare facilities in Maryland and Virginia. This direct hire role involves travel within an assigned territory, acting as a vital liaison between pharmacies and the various long-term care locations served. The position blends fieldwork with relationship-building, training, and operational support, fostering the highest standards of medication therapy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate strong working relationships with facility leaders and staff to serve as the primary contact for pharmacy-related needs
- Collaborate with clinical and pharmacy directors to guide medication therapy practices and regulatory compliance
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, resolving issues and identifying opportunities for service enhancement
- Conduct training sessions on facility and pharmacy systems, medication handling, and new products or protocols
- Perform monthly onsite visits, including surveys, inspections, and medication pass observations tailored to facility requests
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and industry standards governing pharmacy operations
- Coordinate closely with internal pharmacy teams to deliver cohesive service and customer success
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacy Technician licenses in both Virginia and Maryland are required
- PTCB certification is highly preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is strongly desired
- Proficiency with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, or Frameworks is preferred
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area; occasional overnight stays may be necessary
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rare weekend requirements
- Flexible availability for occasional later-day audits
