Pharmacy Technician in Lake City, FL

A certified Pharmacy Technician is needed to support sterile compounding operations and pharmacy workflow in a fast-paced infusion and specialty pharmacy setting. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and is located in Lake City, FL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision following USP <797> and USP <800> standards for sterile and hazardous compounding.
• Maintain aseptic technique, cleanroom procedures, and cleanroom equipment.
• Perform pharmacy calculations and accurately prepare compounded products.
• Assist with preparation, labeling, packaging, and shipment of infusion medications.
• Maintain compounding logs, batch records, and quality assurance documentation.
• Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, receiving, expiration date tracking, and product rotation.
• Support medication order processing and prescription fulfillment.
• Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA, OSHA, and company policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile compounding, home infusion, hospital, or oncology settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sterile compounding principles and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
