An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to join a specialty retail pharmacy team focused on serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This 13-week contract with potential for hire requires a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills to thrive in a patient-centered environment.

Location: Lakewood, OH
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks, contract to hire
Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients typically on 8-15 daily prescriptions
  • Provide patient counseling with patience and empathy, addressing the unique challenges faced by Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations
  • Support patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Maintain knowledge of 200-400 commonly prescribed retail medications
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care tailored to complex patient needs

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail pharmacy technician experience required, specialty retail pharmacy experience highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient approach for a diverse patient population with low literacy
  • Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification strongly preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment focused on patient care
