Support the pharmacy team by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications within a hospital setting. This role requires adherence to established procedures and sterile compounding regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance. Working shifts that include days, weekends, and holidays, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an efficient pharmacy operation.

Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists by preparing physician orders and filling medication as per labels, including unit dose oral medications, reconstituted medications, topical applications, and IV solutions.
- Prepare intravenous, epidural, and intrathecal solutions under sterile conditions according to pharmacy protocols.
- Submit completed drug orders to pharmacists for final verification before dispensing.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the pharmacy area, reporting any unsafe equipment or practices.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, automated dispensing machines, and removing expired medications.
- Maintain emergency medication supplies and crash cart trays.
- Deliver medications to designated hospital floors and healthcare providers.
- Support nursing staff with Pyxis troubleshooting and other pharmacy-related requests.
- Follow proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous materials.
- Complete regular competency assessments in line with departmental policy.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient and facility information at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid certification as a Registered Pharmacy Technician issued by the Board of Pharmacy, State of Hawaii.
- Minimum two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience in a community pharmacy, hospital, or similar healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of sterile compounding procedures and pharmacy safety standards.
