This opportunity is tailored for a bilingual Pharmacy Technician fluent in Spanish and English, aiming to make a meaningful impact in a quality-driven pharmacy environment. Situated in Van Nuys, CA, the role begins as a 13-week contract-to-perm position with a forward-looking company focused on long-term growth and career development.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Rotating Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (with prior Wednesday off when working Saturday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong clinical support in a retail setting, assisting pharmacists with medication reviews and patient counseling, particularly for a large diabetic population
- Accurately process and fill approximately 250 prescriptions daily
- Perform data entry, prescription processing, insurance adjudication, and manage prior authorizations
- Deliver excellent bilingual customer service, enhancing patient communication and support
- Support medication synchronization, adherence initiatives, and patient follow-ups
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and assist in clinical workflow coordination
- Demonstrate leadership potential as the position evolves toward clinical liaison or leadership roles
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, clear California Pharmacy Technician License
- Retail Pharmacy Technician experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with prior authorizations preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge, especially in diabetes management and insulin counseling
- Reliable, accountable, professional, with excellent communication and counseling abilities
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
