Pharmacy Technician | Long Beach, California

This position seeks a dedicated and bilingual (Spanish/English) Pharmacy Technician to join a growing pharmacy team on a contract-to-hire basis. The role offers the opportunity to develop into a Clinical Liaison or Leadership position, ideal for a professional who is motivated by career advancement and long-term stability.

Location: Van Nuys, CA
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Rotating Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (with a prior Wednesday off when scheduled)

Responsibilities include:

• Providing clinical support in a busy retail pharmacy setting, emphasizing patient care and medication reviews, particularly for a large diabetic patient population
• Processing and filling approximately 250 prescriptions daily with accuracy and efficiency
• Performing data entry, prescription processing, insurance adjudication, and managing prior authorizations
• Delivering exceptional customer service and patient communication in both Spanish and English
• Supporting pharmacists with clinical workflow and medication synchronization efforts
• Assisting with compliance to pharmacy regulations and maintaining workflow standards
• Demonstrating leadership potential by helping coordinate workflow as the role evolves

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active and clear California Pharmacy Technician License
• Retail pharmacy technician experience is required
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge, patient counseling skills, and confidence in diabetes management, including insulin counseling
• Reliability, professionalism, and a growth mindset valued over years of experience
• Prior Authorization experience and PTCB certification are preferred but not mandatory
• At least 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience is a plus
