Pharmacy Technician | Long Beach, California

A healthcare facility in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician for a contract position to support their inpatient pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
• Accurately fill and manage automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis)
• Process medication orders using Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems
• Deliver medications to nursing units efficiently and safely
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries related to pharmacy operations

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required
• Competency in making IV preparations and handling sterile products
• Expertise in filling and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon or similar electronic order entry systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills to support nursing units and pharmacy workflow

Schedule / Hours:

• Variable day and afternoon shifts to meet coverage needs
