An opening is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support an acute care facility in the Los Angeles area. This role will focus on inpatient pharmacy operations, with an emphasis on IV compounding and medication dispensing through automated systems. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience working in a hospital setting and be proficient in using Pyxis and Paragon/Allscripts systems. The position is on a contract basis for 8 to 13 weeks, with the possibility of extension.

Location:
Los Angeles area, CA

Schedule/Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Shifts vary between 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Weekend coverage required, typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sterile and non-sterile IV compounding accurately and safely
  • Fill and manage inventory in Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
  • Support inpatient pharmacy workflows within an acute care environment
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient medication delivery
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
  • Utilize Paragon/Allscripts for medication order entry and documentation

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Pharmacy Technician licensure required
  • Proven experience in acute care and inpatient pharmacy settings
  • Strong proficiency with IV compounding techniques
  • Experience filling and managing Pyxis machines essential
  • Familiarity with Paragon or Allscripts order entry systems preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Professional appearance adhering to scrub dress code
