Pharmacy Technician - Long Beach, CA

This position offers an opportunity for experienced pharmacy technicians to support inpatient acute care operations in the Long Beach, CA area. The facility serves a licensed capacity of 117 beds, with an average daily census of 44, providing a focused environment for delivering quality pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities include:

• Compounding intravenous (IV) medications in accordance with safety and accuracy standards
• Filling and managing Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Supporting order entry through Paragon/Allscripts systems
• Collaborating with a pharmacy team comprised of 3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians
• Maintaining compliance with facility protocols and dress code (scrubs required)

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proven experience in inpatient, acute care pharmacy settings
• Proficiency with IV compounding techniques
• Hands-on experience with Pyxis automation systems
• Familiarity with Paragon and/or Allscripts order entry systems is highly desirable
• Ability to work varied shifts ranging between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including some weekends between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM
• Eligibility to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

This contract assignment extends for approximately 8 to 13 weeks, with flexibility for travelers who are open to relocating or commuting to the Long Beach area. The role provides opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
